This workshop will explore the range of forms and approaches possible when writing for this multi-faceted age group (9-13), through discussion of texts and writing exercises. Kate De Goldi hopes participants will leave with a new appreciation of the 9-13 reader and some fresh ways of thinking about how to write for them. Readers in this age group are smarter than ever and hungry for sophisticated, wide-ranging material.
One of New Zealand’s most loved authors, whose work engages children, teenagers and adults alike, Kate is a two-time winner of the NZ Post Children’s Book of the Year Award. She joins us as the Henderson House artist-in-residence in Alexandra.
Limited to 12 people.
