Daisley, who lives in Western Australia and is the author of Coming Rain, grew up in New Zealand and has, among other things, worked as a shearer and on sheep and cattle stations. He is the current Randell Cottage Writing Fellow and won the 2011 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Fiction (Australia). Chidgey, who lives in Ngauruawahia, has degrees in German literature and psychology and teaches creative writing. The Wish Child was her first novel after a 13-year break.
