It’s alive. It’s energetic. It explodes from the mic and flies around the room. Welcome to the third annual Wham Bam Tauranga Poetry Slam.

Get ready for three rounds of audience-judged, original work from established and emerging local performers. The poets battle it out and, by the end of the night, we will crown a new Tauranga Slam Champ who will go on to represent Tauranga at the national NZ Poetry Slam.

Slams are safe, fun, inclusive spaces and, whether you perform sonnets, rap, activism or comedy, all styles are welcome in this fun format. The point is not the points, the point is the poetry.
