Head of the Bioluminescent Superbugs Lab at the University of Auckland, Siouxsie Wiles combines her twin passions of ‘glow-in-the-dark’ and science to understand infectious diseases.

A regular on Radio Live and on National Radio’s Nine to Noon, Siouxsie won the 2013 Prime Minister’s Prize for Science Communication and the 2013 Royal Society of New Zealand Callaghan Medal. She is interested in demystifying science for laypeople, and raising awareness of the growing threat of antibiotic-resistant superbugs.  In this illustrated talk, Siouxsie introduces us to some of the beauty to be found in her every day work.

Siouxsie is speaking to schools on Fri 3 June, thanks to the generous support of Taylor Bros.
